Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy meets you and your body at a deep, core level. Every part of your body moves and has rhythm and fluctuation to it. Your cells, your organs, your bones, even your emotions, your mind, and your spirit move and breathe with these fluctuations. In an ideal world, your body would be able to fully express this motility. However, many things happen in our lives that stop healing from taking place. Over time, traumatic events — like car crashes, surgeries, injuries, and emotional abuse, to name a few — take their toll. These incidents leave their mark on you. Your entire system expends energy holding on, suspending inert experiences. Your body stores it. When that happens, your anatomy, your emotions, and your mind can’t express their full motility, motion, or flexibility. You get stuck. The stuckness hinders other places in your body also, because each part of us is connected to every other part. All of this leads to both acute and chronic issues.
Your body wants to heal and has the ability to heal itself. There is a deep intelligence to your system that knows what to do. It knows how to heal you. From a biodynamic perspective, this deep intelligence is what is behind the rhythm and fluctuation of your body. This breath that is moving through you, is your inherent health.
Often these long-held experiences are simply too much for us to get rid of on our own. We have a level of threshold of what we can handle alone and what we can’t. Often our bodies need another person giving their awareness and full attention to it in order for it to move towards healing.
It's not Reiki.
Reiki is channeling of positive universal energy, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy works with the energy of your body, not through channeling.
It’s not psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy primarily uses the doorway of the mind and speech. We will be using the doorway of your body.
It's not hypnosis.
You will not be led to work your subconscious in that way.
It's not a cure-all.
While its application is vast, I have a large network of fellow practitioners and I know when to refer someone out.
It's not a replacement for Western Medicine.
While this work is preventative medicine and can help adjust and reverse things going on with you, there is certainly a role for western medicine as well. This work is a complement to the care and advice of your primary care physician.
The greatest force in the human body is the natural drive of the body to heal itself - but that force in not independent of the belief system. Everything begins with belief. What we believe is the most powerful option of all.
